Hello Allison,
My eldest sister was named Allison, she passed in 1970, miss her greatly and will miss yout the same. My father died from a stroke in 1978. Since, stroke runs in my family, I have been taking two supplements two or three times a month. L-Arginine 1000mg and Nattoknise 2000 Fibrinolytic Units. Suggest that you research this and see if they may benefit you.

Im sad that your leaving the station, but happy that you have time to focus on your health and do fabulous things around Chicago!!
Allison-
I once worked in radio, and in Chicago, at WMAQ-AM (1988-1997). Take it from me, when it comes down to career or health, have no regrets. *No one* could tell me what was wrong with me, even in a world-class health care city like Chicago. At 43, three years after leaving Chicago and spending about 60-70 percent of my time in bed, in pain and barely able to walk, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Fibromyalgia, which, from all the collateral damage to my body systems, doctors estimated I had been walking around with since my late 20’s early 30’s. God preserved my life for a reason. I’m not bashful about “putting my business in the street”, because more African-American women need to be aware of SLE, how difficult it is to diagnose, and how to advocate for themselves, rather than being dismissed as hypochondriacs.
A recent study revealed African-American women are three times more likely to get SLE, develop lupus at a younger age and have more severe symptoms than white women.
You and Muriel Claire are two of the nicer folks I remember from my time in Chicago.
Take good care of yourself. I’ll be missing you on WGN/Channel 9.
Ms. Payne,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re leaving WGN. When you’re ready and if you have the time, then I’d love to speak with you about having you come on board as an instructor at The Illinois Center for Broadcasting. With your background and professionalism, I know that our students would enjoy learning from you. If interested in more information, then please speak with David Finney at 630.916.1700 or via email at Finney.D@BeOnAir.com.
